Lady Comets Win Two On Thursday

The Greenville High School softball team played two games at the Greenville University field on Thursday and won both.

The Lady Comets edged Mulberry Grove 9-8.

Haylee Clark ripped a home run for one of her two hits.  Other players with two hits included EmmaLeigh Wilfong, Jayden Murphy and Holly Dunn.

Ava Potthast was the winning pitcher, striking out 12 Mulberry Grove batters.

In the second game, Greenville stopped Vandalia 14-1.

Kaitlyn Lurkins smacked a three-run homer.  Wilfong earned the pitching win, striking out nine.

The Lady Comets are hosting a tournament today (Saturday).  They will play at 10 a.m. and noon on the GHS field.
