The Bond County Sheriff’s Department has a new deputy.
Sheriff Josh Hill recently swore in Ryan Carter, a 2009 graduate of Mulberry Grove High School, who currently resides in Greenville.
Hill said Carter served as a correctional officer at the Bond County Jail for a little over a year, which provided him valuable experience working in the criminal justice system.
Carter began his 16-week basic police academy schooling on August 17 at the SWIC Police Academy in Belleville. After that, he will continue his training for 14 weeks with certified field training officers in the Bond County sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Hill stated Carter’s previous experience with the jail gives him a solid foundation as he begins the next chapter in his law enforcement career.
