Mulberry Grove Unit 1 Superintendent Casie Bowman provided information to the school board at the recent meeting regarding the proposed budget for fiscal year 2027.
Bowman told WGEL the proposed budget is balanced in the amount of about $5 million, which she said is a little higher than last year.
The superintendent advised the district is still trying to keep expenses down, but she reminded the board new union contract are now in effect.
It was noted Unit 1 will receive $1,500 more this year in state evidence based funding.
The board will conduct a budget hearing at 6 p.m. September 14.
