The Greenville Lincoln Land Leathernecks Detachment 1174, Department of Illinois, Marine Corps League awarded 3 individual $500 Ray B. Hughes Memorial Grants to local High School Seniors for College or trade school expenses.
The Detachment started this program in 2011 and renamed it the Ray B. Hughes Memorial Grants in honor of one of a dedicated member of eh group who passed in 2024.
Grant recipients included Dixie Ottenschnieder. of Breese; Jacie Persing of Aviston; and Mollie Kate Mifflin. of Greenville.
